Front ones only need the brake assy. taken off to remove the hub. The rear ones require a bit more. If the hub is worn down considerably there will be a small ridge inside. You will need to loosen the internal adjustment so the hub will pass by the brake drums. On the back of the assy there is a small oval hole. It should have a rubber seal over it. With 2 screw drivers you need to loosen the internal mechanism.
It is just a big nut, or wheel, on a big screw. Unfortunately there is a spring loaded tab that holds it in place. With one screw driver you need to push the tab back. Then with the other you need to turn the wheel to loosen the mechanism. Its trickey the first time. Not sure which way to turn it. With out releasing the tab try turning the wheel. The direction it turns with the tab set is the opposite direction you need to go. o need to turn it the way it is held by the tab.
Once its loose enough you can remove the hub.
Remove the dash and remove the instrument cluster, the lights are in the back of the cluster.
