Are you sure it rounded? Most of these bolts use an Allen Wrench so the outside of your bolt should be round but the inside should accept the L-shaped 6-sided tool. If the inside of the bolt is rounded from using the wrong size allen), then this is another problem to solve.

Take a rotary cut-off tool with a thin wheal. Grind a slot in the bolt head. Try to use use large a slotted screw driver to turn the bolt.

If this will not work, try drilling a hole in the bolt and use and "easy-out" or screw extractor (buy from a hardware store).

How do you remove caliper mounting bolts on vw polo?

Buy replacement bolts and rubbers from vw dealer - £25 cut away old rubbers to get at old bolts, they are hex key types but are probably rounded off so either drive in slightly larger spline fitting, or go directly to bolt splitter. Tighten on and you have enough space to tap loose with hammer. Replace with new suff. Terrible design & poor quality for vw.

How do you replace cv axle shaft on 1996 Taurus sho?

Remove the brake caliper and hang it on a wire so as not to strain hose, then remove caliper mounting. Now tap back of rotor to remove it. Detach tie rod end from knuckle, remove ABS sensor (this is very difficult, they stick) Remove control arm from knuckle. This is not easy due to the rounded edges of the control arm After that, undo large nut holding hub and drive axle and pull the hub off. At this point, with one person holding the hub out of the way, you can grasp and firmly pull the CV joint, with axle, right out of the transaxle. If you have the metric trans, the CV joints on this vehicle are almost, but not quite identical. Only about 1 inch difference, so do not confuse the sides. replace everything exactly the opposite way.-This job is quite tricky if you are not a very experienced mechanic -
