Remove the air cleaner, disconnect the wiring from the iac, throttle position senor,and the injectors ( squeeze the tabs together on the top ). Disconnect the throttle cable by open the throttle to put slack in the cable and unloop the cable and slide the cable end out of the hole. Remove the detent cable by sliding it forward off the pin, it just snaps on an off with a sliding motion. Remove vacuum lines. Disconnect the fuel lines, making sure to use a back up wrench on the throttle body fitting, and one on the line fitting. The larger pressure line may have pressure on it. Loosen with a rag covering the area a prevent spray of fuel, hang rag to dry, do not ball up a throw away as gas can be combustive on it's own that way. There are o-rings on the ends of the lines. Remove the three bolts that hold it to the manifold. You should be able to lift it off now, slowly to make sure everything is unhooked, I may have forgotten something, do not think so, but never know. Sure you can, rotate the retaining ring and the unit will come out.
On top of engine, way in back, under the distributor.
A wheel bearing is pressed in to the hub so that it is able to safely operate. To replace a bearing on a Chevy Impala remove the hub from the car and take the unit to a machinist. Have the press out the old bearing and press in the new one.
I remove the distributor to gain access to the oil sending unit.
It's threaded. Twist it counterclockwise.
Remove the fuel tank then unscrew the retainig ring and remove unit.
Remove you glove box. It should be behind it.
You will have to remove the tank and then remove the fuel sending unit and then empty the tank. NO OTHER WAY.
To find 20 percent of a number, multiply the number by 0.2. In this instance 0.2 x 35.00 = 7.00. If the value refers to a unit of currency, don't forget to include the appropriate currency unit.
The easiest way would be to purchase the special socket that fits that sending unit to remove and install.
you will have to drop the tank and remove the pump unit.
It is inside of the fuel tank. You will have to remove the tank to service it.
