The buzzer that lets you know the key is in the ignition in a 1989 Chevy Blazer is in the steering column. To access it you would need to remove the steering wheel with a special tool, or remove the ignition assembly. The key makes contact with a tab that activates the buzzer.

Yes it will. From 1989 - 1994 all Chevy sprint/GEO metro/Suzuki Swift/Subaru Justy's had the same design. Make sure that both models are either 2 door or 4 door because the 4 door model has slightly bigger doors. Hope this helps.
If you do not see 2 screws holding it in place it just pulls off.
A locksmith may be able to remove the broke key and make a new one. Or just replace the ignition.
