You don't say which engine or year but see my post under "How do you change a serpentine belt on a 93 Buick Skylark" for a possible answer.
You can't remove them. When you get it, you get it.
it shouldnt but it will if the alternator is bad or it has worn belts or broken belts on it
There are two belts on the passenger
Here is a How to/ DIY (do it yourself) for your car. Its for water pump removal, but it shows how to remove the belts, since you have to remove the belts to obviously remove the water pump. http://www.tuningemotion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2471
Remove upper core support, remove radiator, remove belts, using a hormonic balancer puller(specific for chrysler) remove balancer.
I have a '96 Ultra and I've changed both belts. I had to remove the bottom screw of the upper engine mount to change both the Supercharger and Accessory belts. Take the right front tire off for easier access. Remove the bolt, then get a star socket and remove the screw. There is a metal piece held in by the screw. With the screw missing you can now pull the belts through. You'll have to route the belts in front of the pulley that is behind the mount. I am a Do-It-Yourselfer. I've done this twice. And that's how I did it. Also, make sure you don't waste your money on cheap belts. Pay a little extra for good belts so you won't have to do this much.
you have to remove all belts
order new belts from an OEM supplier with new bolts and washers. remove rear seat and go to work!
yes you do
Go to the parts store and get the belts then loosten the alternator, power steering pump and a/c compressor and remove the belts measuring them as they come off to see which belt goes where.
there should be two major bolts to the alternator one to losse'n up the belts and the other to release the alternator to the mount. loosen the belts first and then remove the belts.. after this it should be easy to replace the alternator
The water pump on the 3.0iter is behind the front engine cover,on the passenger side on the van. You have to support the engine and remove the top engine mount and then remove the power steering pump and altenator. then you have to remove the mounting bracket on the engine and you will have access to the timing belt covers. remove the timing belt covers and belts and you will then have access to the water pump. Just a lettle hint. while you are doing the water pump you shoud replace the timing belts and the automatic tensioner for the timing belts. good luck!!
