I recently have done this repair myself and you DO NOT have to drop the tank. The fuel pump can be accessed by lowering the back of the back seat. You will see a black panel behind this in the trunk . Use a screwdriver to open the panel and you will see the pump. remove the two hoses and 6 screws to remove it.
