pull on it whilst twisting counter clockwise with no more than 5 pounds of pulling force.
If in fact the only thing that needs to be replaced is the pulley, you will have find a method of holding the pulley so that it cannot turn and remove the four small bolts that holds it on to the water pump pulley shaft. If the pulley appears to be bent or not straight, chances are the water pump shaft bushing is worn. If this is the case, the entire water pump must be replaced. If you are getting coolant seepage it is most likely the bushing.
Pull the radiator shroud, remove the serpentine belt, remove the fan from the water pump shaft, then remove the water pump.
Remove the side case and the water pump. Remove the right side case, and remove the impeller and shaft. Holding the back side of the impeller shaft with a wrench on the flat spots, you can now twist the impeller off.
You would need to drop the oil pan and remove the oil pump to gain access to the intermediate shaft.
you have to remove trans.after trans is removed remove tork.conv.check bushing in front pump you will find that it is bad
you can replace power stering pump without moveing drive shaft but its fiddly. to remove drive shaft undo 30mm nut in centre, undo bottom ball joint and pull strut out of way be ready to catch gear box oil.
Remove the throttle body and loosen/remove fuel lines. Remove single bolt and bracket for oil pump shaft and housing. Using pliers pull straight up on the shaft. You may have to wiggle it a little. Remove the old seal, install the new and reverse procedure. It's a fairly easy job.
Once the water pump is removed, the shaft will slide out, the 15hp driveshaft is free floating,
It is inside the oil pan. There is a shaft that connects the oil pump to the bottom end of the distributor shaft. The cam shaft then turns both of them as it rotates. You'll have the remove the oil pan to get to it. I hope that this helps.
If there is a big nut on the fan shaft where it connects to the water pump go to Autozone and ask them to rent the water pump wrench set (you get the money back when you return the tools). The big spanner wrench goes around the four bolt heads on the water pump pulley and the other smaller wrench goes on the big nut then just unscrew the nut. If you don't have the nut on the pump shaft just remove the four bolt from the water pump the fan shaft will come off the pump.
Drain coolant Remove 4 bolts that secure fan and pulley on water pump Remove Belts Slide fan and pulley off water pump shaft Loosen and remove bolts securing water pump Remove coolant hoses if required Remove water pump Clean engine surface before installing new pump and gasket ya what he said......lol
That is not a Allen screw in there. That is part of the pump shaft. If you are looking to remove the pump pulley you will need a power steering pulley puller. This tool will help you remove it and replace it, without the puller you will damage the pulley or the pump or both.
