If it is a plug it unscrews counterclockwiseIf it is a petcock it opens clockwise Remove the lower radiator hose
The 4.2 Liter and 4.9 Liter, 6 cyl engine, both have one large nut holding the clutch assembly onto the water pump. Remove the radiator shroud. You need two wrenches, one goes behind the clutch to restrain it from turning, and the other wrench removes the nut on the front of the clutch shaft. It is a two man job, with one person under the vehicle restraining the shaft, and the other person on top, removing the nut. You may have to remove the fan first, to get access. You man have to remove the upper radiator hose on some models.
how do you remove the fan clutch on a 1992 318i 1.8 liter?
remove front fan shroud and upper radiator supports loosen fan which is right hand thread normal. you can remove the four 15mm bolts that hold the back shroud on two top and two bottom and pull the fan and rear shroud out at same time remove the 10mm bolts that hold the fan to the fan clutch and reinstall.
of'course
There is 2 of them and thay are under the intake manifold. You will have to remove intake manifold to get to them.
If you will look at the bottom radiator hose and follow it to the left front bottom side of the engine you will see where it clamps onto a housing that's hooked to the water pump. Remove those 3 bolts and the thermostat will be behind that housing.
Remove the skid plate under radiator and look at front of motor.
Drain the radiator. Remove the top radiator hose and water inlet. Remove the thermostat from under the inlet. Install the new thermostat, reinstall the inlet and hose, and fill the system with new freon.
Changing the thermostat on a 2002 Chevrolet 4.8 liter engine is simple to do. First, follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat. Then drain the radiator hose. After the hose is drained, remove the clamps and bolts holding the thermostat housing in place. Then remove the old thermostat and replace with a new one.
Just follow the top radiator hose to the engine and you will see were it clamps onto the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts in the housing and take housing off and the thermostat is right there.Need to drain engine coolant first. BE SURE ENGINE IS COLD.
That engine has 2 of them and there both underneith the intake manifold. You can not see are even get to them until you remove the intake.
