whatever you do, dont try it yourself. My husband did on ours and now one is broke off inside it and we have to take the head off and all kinds of crazy stuff that's gonna cost a lot of money. although i did find a tool that removes broken spark plugs but its a hundred bucks. From what we've found out, its easier and costs less to just take it to the dealership and pay the 200 bucks because if they mess it up, then they dont charge to take it out. They're gonna charge 1300 to remove the head and 30 an hour for labor if their special tool (which they charge you 200 to use whether it comes out or not) doesn't work. so, just pay the dealer to do it
find the plugs that connect to the plugs and pull them off.after that you can remove the plugs.
You will need to remove the spark plug wires on your Chevrolet 3.1 liter engine. Remove the spark plugs with a 5/8 deep well socket. Turn the socket to the left. The spark plugs will come out. Reverse the process to install the new spark plugs.
You have to remove the intake plenum to access.
remove the coil packs on top the engine with a small tork bit then change plugs

remove belt, remove alternator plugs, then bolts. pull out alternator. then undo bolts for bracket and remove.

On a Ford Excursion ( if it has a gasoline engine ) ( the 5.4 liter V8 engine has 8 spark plugs ) ( the 6.8 liter V10 engine has 10 spark plugs )

Replace plugs and filters, change fluids, replace serpentine belt. Plugs are replaced by removing fuel rails, removing coil packs over plugs, then changing plugs.
