Lower the tailgate. Remove the two screws on the inside to the side of the lamp assembly with an torx wrench. The tail lamp assembly will pop out. Remove the four screws on the backside of the tail lamp with a Phillips head screwdriver. You now have access to the bulbs.
The individual bulbs are held in by a "twist lock" device. Locate the wires leading to the burned out buld, then you should be able to see the device. Disengage the wiring harness from the bulb, then rotate the locking device counter-clockwise and the bulb will come right out. Make sure you do not touch the replacement bulb with your fingers as the oil can shorten the life of new bulbs. If you need to replace the entire assembly, remove wiring all harnesses as described earlier, then loosen the two bolts on the upperside of the assembly. Assembly pops right off. At this point is is fairly easy to switch bulbs or install new bulbs.
