What year or chassis is the 525? If it is an e34 (1989-1996) the lenses cannot be easily replaced and involves using a heat gun or to remove old lenses and gluing new ones on. The whole assembly can be replaced but it is not cheap.
Buy a service manual and the correct tools, this can be dangerous if you do wrong!!
