There are several possibilities:
é; this has an ACUTE accent (French, accent AIGU).
è: This has a GRAVE accent (accent grave)
ê: this has a CIRCUMFLEX accent (accent circonflexe).
ë: this has a diaeresis (tréma).
On a Mac, you hit and hold Option + e, this will give you the accent by itself. Then immediately after, you hit and hold Shift + e. This will put a capital E under the accent.
On a PC in Microsoft Word, you hit and hold Ctrl + ' + Shift + e. The ' is an apostrophe - it's the key next to Enter. Hit and HOLD THEM ALL until the capital E appears.
Also on a PC, if you have a separate numerical keypad on the right side of your keyboard, you can hit Alt + 0201 to get a capital E.
Please note that the "+" in my instructions does not meant to hit the plus key. It just means "and."
Yes, you can simply add an accent over the "e" to write "Sydnée."
Its over the e.
It is an accent mark, it this case it's an E with an acute accent.
Yes, over the e
The accent mark over the letter "e" is called an acute accent. It is used in various languages to indicate stress or pronunciation changes.
Fiance with one e (and an accent) is the masculine. Fiancee is the feminine, with an accent over the first e. I can't figure out how to type accents on windows, though :-/
Se~nor. The tilde accent mark actually goes over the letter "n," not between the "e" and the "n."
It emphasizes the part of the word where the accent is. for example Ingles. Without the accent it would simply be "Ingles." But the accent originally goes over the e. So you say the E with emphasis. "InglEs".
There are a few ways. You can go to the Insert menu and go to Symbol and then Normal Text and you will find them there. If you hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys and then press any one of the vowel keys, you can get an accent over them.
PRIMER with an accent over the "e"
It means "is".
