Center the steering wheel with the wheels straight ahead. Remove the steering column trim, remove the ignition lock cylinder, remove the streering wheel. The clockspring is located under the streering wheel, and includes the ignition key-in warning pigtail. You will have to follow the wiring to the base of the column and unplug the connectors. Instalation is in the reverse order as disassembly.
05 clock spring
Disconnect battery cable. Remove airbag on steering wheel, then pull the wheel off with a puller. The clockspring is located behind the wheel. There are 3 plastic tabs on the backside of clockspring which secure it in place. Bend them back slightly to remove clockspring.

Changing a clock spring is not a job for a novice. you need to remove the air bag then the steering wheel then you can see the clock spring. next you need to remove the steering column cover which is easier if you unbolt the column and lower it. This will give you access to the wiring connections. Good luck
Usually, there is no repairing a clock spring. Normally, if there is an issue a person replaces it. It is replaced by remove the air bad and steering wheel, then removing the old clock spring and putting a new one.

The clock spring doesn't control anything. It is used to connect the switches located in the steering wheel to the wire harness inside the steering column.
Disconnect negative battery terminal. Allow 2-3 minutes for left over current to drain from airbag. Remove steering column trim piece. Remove airbag bolts behind steering wheel. Unplug airbag and remove. Remove steering wheel dampner. Remove big nut in center of steering wheel. Using a puller, remove steering wheel. Disconnect clock spring wireing harness. Remove any bolts holding clock spring in place. Remove old clock spring and replace with new. Repeat steps backwards for re installation. Hope this helps.
