Careful not to break it like I did. Remove big clamp from air intake (about 4" diameter plastic hose) and the two torx screws that join the rectangular air intake to near the grill. Then it is just a matter of applying pressure, pulling up, one corner at a time. Like someone said, it's like pulling the cork out of a wine bottle.

To remove an engine cover from a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta all of the mounting bolts need to be located. There are several around the engine bay. The clips for the air intake need to be removed as well. When everything is unbolt the cover can just be pulled off.
open you hood to your car, and on your engine cover, you should have 4 rubber mounts holding it on. the engine num shoud be on a sticker on the cam belt cover at the top. if not on the vin plate.

It depends on the model year and size of engine cover based on the engine underneath. For 1996 and newer, you generally have to remove the passenger seat in order to get the cover out of the way.
