You would need to take this to the dealer. I had to have mine done. They have to program the new cluster panel for your vehicle.
(they are pro rating the price up to 70,000 miles its a 180$ part about 600$ repair)

How do you remove a speedometer on a 1949 F-1 pickup?
The gauge cluster is mounted from behind the dash with three bolts. You have to reach in behind there and remove the three nuts with a small wrench. Once you remove the nuts, the gauge cluster itself will push back through the dash. From there, you can remove the speedo itself from the cluster. The speedometer only has 3 small screws keeping it mounted to the gauge cluster.
