THERE ARE TWO SCREWS BY THE DOOR HANDLE TO REMOVE. THEN CAREFULLY POP UP THE PLATE COVERING THE CONTROL SWITCHES. UNSCREW THAT SCREW, THEWHOLE PANEL SHOULD THEN SLIDE UP. CAREFULL OF THE ATTACHED CABLES.
Eddie Bauer version is aparently a little different. for the 2002, there are 2 screws at the bottom of the door panel, remove them first. Carefully pry out the panel that surrounds the door handle, pry from the front of this panel. Once removed then pry up the part of the arm rest that holds the switches. This can usually be done by hand, without tools. Unplug the switches and lay this part aside. Find just one screw under this armrest section and remove. Lift straight up on the panel to release the catches and the entirel panel comes off. To reinstall, just reverse the order. Takes less than 5 minutes.

remove the trim piece from inside the armrest, remove the 2 screws. Remove the red light at the end of the door panel (it prys out) remove the screw in there. Then remove the screw that is inside the air duct (towards the front of the car) Then lift the entire door panel UP and carefully remove it, make sure not to break the "legs" off the panel as the panel wont fit tightly back on if you do. Then disconnect the wires and its free.
