I don't think that is neccasary. If you remove the plug from the tailight and feed it down the bumper it gives you plenty of work room below the bumper.

Step 1. Pop off the center plastic piece the rules the lenghts of the door. Step 2. Remove the cargo stap hook that is about halfway up the trim panel. (take a Phillips screw driver and turn it 90 degrees and pop the thing out. Step 3. Pull on the bottom corner of the panel until it starts to pop and work your way up so you can gain access to the back. Step 4. pull back the red tab on the light harness to release them. Step 5. Connect you harnesses and feed the end through the thru body gromet. (you have to make a slit in the gromet to pass the plug through. Step 6. Apply silicon around the wiring at the gromet to seal it up. Step 7. Feed your wiring down and to your hitch staying away from your exhaust. Use some zipties if you have em. Step 8. Let your silicon dry for for a little while until it has set up. Don't wait 24 hours or anything. Step 9. Reinstall your back panel, cargo strap point, and center trim.
