Remove radiator, serpentine belt, bracket for power steering, and you should be able to get to all water pump bolts, although I'm having a hard time removing fan from pump.

remove the alternator, remove mounting bolts for steering pump and position aside, remove upper engine mount bolt/nut, support engine with sling, remove the upper engine mount bracket, then finally accessory bracket. whole job with proper tools and equipment takes approx. 5 hours to do. I would not attempt to do this as a driveway repair.
3.3L and 3.8L Engines The 3.3L and 3.8L engines were equipped with the Nippondenso alternators. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the alternator drive belt, by relieving the tension on the dynamic tensioner. 3. Loosen the nut on the support bracket at the exhaust manifold, do not remove it. 4. Remove the alternator tensioner/power steering bracket bolt. 5. Remove the tensioner stud nut and remove the tensioner. 6. Remove the alternator mounting bolts. 7. Remove the power steering reservoir from the mounting bracket, do not disconnect the hoses, and position it out of the way. 8. Remove the alternator support bracket bolts. Remove the intake plenum to alternator bracket bolt and remove the alternator support bracket from the engine. 9. Remove the alternator from the engine and disconnect the electrical leads. To install: 10. Install the alternator in position on the engine and connect the electrical leads. 11. Install the alternator support bracket, tighten the retaining bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). 12. Install the power steering reservoir on the mounting bracket. 13. Install the alternator mounting bolts, tighten the bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). 14. Install the tensioner and tensioner mounting stud. Install the retaining nut on the exhaust manifold. 15. Install the alternator belt, insert a 1/2 in. extension into the square hole in the tensioner and turn the tensioner. Tighten the tensioner bolt. 16. Connect the negative battery cable.
You just remove it from where it is located. It is located under the dashboard on the driver side of the steering column mounted to a support bracket. Very easy to do.
no, remove the caliper and the caliper mountaing bracket, if it is on the front you may have to remove the axle not but there is no need to remove any steering part
NO you do not. Just loosen all the bolts up on the bracket that holds the power steering pump and then pull the big bracket back enough to get to that corner bolt. It does not have to be moved very far. You must be working on a vortec.
One can replace a steering wheel by taking the top cap off, remove the screws, pull the steering off and then one can place the new steering wheels into the steering bracket.
1.disconnect the negative ground from the battery 2.If it has a column shift disconnect the link rod by prying out the grommet in the shift lever 3.Remove the steering shaft lower coupling to the wormshaft roll pin 4.Disconnect the wiring connectors at the steering column jacket 5.Remove the steering wheel center pad assembly 6.Disconnect the horn wire and remove the horn switch 7. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut. DO NOT HAMMER ON THE STEERING SHAFT TO REMOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. 8. Remove the turn signal lever 9. Remove the floor plate to the floor pan attaching screws 10. To expose the steering column bracket, remove the cluster bezel and panel lower reinforcement 11. Disconnect the automatic shift indicator pointer cable from the shift housing 12. Remove the nuts attaching the steering column bracket to the instrument panel support 13. Carefully remove the lower coupling from the steering gear wormshaft, then remove the column assembly out through the passenger compartment
