You first must take off the plastic trim of the dash that st around the shiter knob. itl just pop off. then unbolt the two screws holding the cubby underneath the cigarette lighter. there will also bee two screws you must remove that sit facing up above where the ash tray is; remove that by pressing the lever that's inside the ashtray down and pulling it out. now you can pop off the main plastic face plate. remove both wire harness that attach to the cigar lighter. now unbolt the four screws (two on each side of the center console tower) and the two below the stereo and boxes. now the whole center tower will come out and you can remove the screws that hold the stereo in place.
you will need a Phillips screw driver pull out the ash tray, there are 2 screws take them out ,on the top of the plastic trim there are 2 more screws take those 2 out also, now you can pull off the plastic trim, take out the 4 screws on the framing now, and the radio is out don't forget to disconnect your wiring from the back !
I have a 2000 impala and installed an aftermarket radio and amps. First you need to remove the fuse covers on both sides and find the screws that hold the dash in place. the dash will have to be removed in order to access the stero.
There is a plastic piece of trim that frames the radio and the climate control panel. If you grasp this piece and pull gently, it will pop off. Underneath, you will see that the radio is held in by 4 Phillips head screws.
The secret is to take out the entire centre consol.
I hope you can help me out Dexter

I dont know, but I just found out if you hold in the volume control button it goes away :) THANK GOD!
If you are referring to the factory supplied radio, it is not a 'component' type radio. It must be removed from the dash and dis-assembled.
you can install a factory radio if you can find one or you can order a direct replacement from a company called biketronics you can find them on line at biktronics.com it is a better radio than the factory one
i dont know oem is original equipment manufacturer that means a factory installed radio
Clarion. Check this out: http://elrocco.com/integration-of-an-ipod-in-a-2006-subaru-impreza-25i
There is no reset button. Disconnect the battery for a few hours, then reconnect and the computer's memory will be erased. You'll have to reprogram your radio setting.
It's built into the front windshield.
take out the old one and put in a new one.
check the fusebox under the bonnet that's wher mine was.
Go to subaruoutback.org Subaru Outback > General > Do-It-Yourself Illustrated Guide > Replacing lights on the instrument cluster The first 3 pictures shows you how to gain access to your radio. Good luck.
Pull out the ashtray and then the panel above and the cup holder . Radio will then come out

Fuse for the radio and clock is in the panel behind the coin tray. It is fuse #9. Your owner's manual has this information along with a diagram that I cannot share in this space. If you do not have a manual for your car, you need one.
on my 93 impreza wagon, they are manual. located on top of the steering column. designed so the parking lights will not be left on mistakenly, causing battery drain. cup holder hides above radio
Remove the shifter cover, it pops right off. there are 2 screws under it, also remove the cup holder there 2 more screws under it, then the ashtray and the radio slide out together. Its that easy, and they sell a radio adapter wiring harness at autozone for 20 bucks
