Left hand side below intake manifold remove the two bell housing bolts that hold starter in place. Bell housing bolts come off easiest from below truck you will be best to use a wobbly 14mm socket and at least a 12" extension. I had my tranny off several times now.

Disconnect the negative on the battery. Then jack the truck up & unbolt positive & negative wires to starter. Then unbolt starter from truck. Not hard to do at all
the starter is going to be under the truck on the driver side, in between the motor and transmission,
