open the trunk.
move the trunk liner where the tail lights are.
you'll see 2 plastic screws. unscrew them.
there is a 3rd screw, you have to reach up to it, its towards the top corner of whatever side you're on.
disconnect the wiring
remove light assembly

in the trunk there are 3 plastic wing nuts take them off and the light will come out.
From inside the trunk you remove the three or four finger nuts to remove the entire taillight assembly. Once you get it removed you'll see the light plugs on the backside.
Trunk light switch is part of the trunk light socket assembly...
There are thumb screws in the trunk some are exposed and some you will have to pull back the carpet to acces when you remove these (4 per light I think) you can pop the whole light assembly off the car and work on it.
Lower tailgate and remove two screws. Pull assembly to the rear and it will release.
A 2001 Intrepid does not have an oil change light.
It is very easy to change the license plate bulb in a 2001 Dodge Intrepid. You will need to remove the tag and then unscrew the light cover. After the cover is off, unscrew the light and replace with a new one.
you have to remove the headlight assembly 3little bolts
if entire left of right assembly, unscrew the 3 plastic wings nuts behind assy inside the trunk, pop out, disconnect harness
From outside,take a screws out to get light assembly loose and remove light socket from back of assembly and channge your light bulb,then put it back.
You just have to pull back the trim in the trunk to access the fasteners for the taillight assembly. Once you remove the taillight assembly just replace the bulb.
