I changed the water pump on my 99 suburban in about 3 hours.
Drain the coolant from the system.
remove the radiator cowling.
remove the radiator.
remove the fan.
remove the serpentine belt.
remove the hoses connecting to the water pump
remove 4 bolts holding the water pump onto the block
clean the block of any old gasket
fit the new water pump and new gasket.
connect the hoses to the pump.
refit the serpentine belt
refit the fan
refit the rad and cowling
fill it up with coolant.
Run the engine and check for leaks.
Best of luck I found it quite easy compared to some European cars I have had.
