You can turn engine by crank bolt to get at them 1x1, but you will still have to remove trans to get it out. Once trans is off, it's a little easier.
Remove the driveshaft from the back of your Chevy transmission. Remove the transmission mount retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts from the Bell housing. The transmission can then slide backwards. Don't forget to unbolt the torque converter from the flex-plate and remove the torque converter with the transmission.

You have to pull the transmission. then it's just 3 bolts/nuts through flywheel.
Remove the lower cover plate on the transmission to engine to gain access to the bolts and remove them. You will have to rotate the flywheel to get to all of them. Remove the driveshaft and drop the transmission.
NO. You will have to remove the transmission bolts and move the transmission back alittle after you have removed the driveshaft,transmission lines,crossmember bolts,starter,flywheel dust cover,front driveshaft,torque converter bolts. NO OTHER WAY.
You have to pull the stater and grind a space in the adaptor for a socket to clear to the torque convertor bolts.
