Don't repair them replace them. Speakers are not very expensive, or you could get two used ones. You don't need to cut the wires at all, I just got mine installed in 5 minutes with the adapter speaker plug, I got them from Amazon for 16 bucks but you save a lot of time and you don't mess the wire system of your car with the black tape and stuff. Unfasten the mounting screws, disconnect the power and ground wires, remove the speakers, replace with the newer ones, reconnect the wires ( you did write down the colour wiring diagram didn't you?) Now insert the screws tighten them and check the sound. Please clarify the problem. Is there no sound, are they damaged, which speakers? Problem areas to look at: Speaker cables from behind the radio (loose, out, or crack) Radio settings (Fade or Balance) Is the radio the original equipment (maybe the connection inside the radio's dial is loose, if it is you might hear static when rotating dial) How to check: I would check the settings first of the radio to see if you can hear any noise, even static. If you hear nothing then remove the radio (If you have an old Honda like me, you might need to remove screws from under the console where the ash tray is located, I think it was three screws, let me know) Then check for loose cables or some clues. Maybe you can connect the none working speaker end to a working one and see if you hear something. There are a lot of options, and it would help if you mention which speakers, any noise you do hear, any optional audio equipment you have in the vehicle (amps), is it the standard radio (if yes, then how old is the car, to know age of radio) or is it a aftermarket radio.
