The oil pressure sending unit is removed by disconnecting the wiring harness and unscrewing the unit using a wrench. The hole is then wiped clean, a new unit installed, and the wires reattached.

Replace oil sending unit with a manual gauge
Why in the world would you want to do this? If the sending unit is defective then replace it. If the light is on you either have low oil pressure of the sending unit is bad. Low oil pressure will ruin your engine.
Worn threads will cause this. Wrap your the threads on your oil pressure sending unit / switch with teflon tape, replace and tighten securely.
