"Front A/C blower would stop working intermittently the back blower works "OK".
Tools needed:
5.5mm and 7mm (I use 7/32 and 9/32 nut driver or small sockets), wire cuter and some electrical butt spice connectors or tape.
My GM/Chevy part # 52413530 (resistor) is replaced by AC delco15-81728. (listed about $108, My Chevy dealer charged me $80) - I had very hard time to find this part at local part houses.
The blower motor resistor in 2006 Chevy Trailblazer is located under glove box , Remove the Cover Panel and Glove box door 9/32" screws (4 each).
Remove two screws to hold the resistor 7/32".
The old GM part has different plugs .You must cut and spice 3 wires to use new plug. When cutting the existing 3 wire plug.. Please cut one wire at a time and do not let them touch each other... I did not .. I blew the electric Fuse (Mine blown fuse is 40A SQUARE fuse at the main fuse box- Yes it is Square Blue or Green/Clear plastic fuse ! Look like a relay or small sugar cube about 7/16" each side!! cost couple dollars).
Replug the blower and resistor plugs, reinstall Resistor screws, reinstall panel cover, Reinstall glove box door (If you took it off.)
The easy wiring instruction comes with the AC Delco kit 15-81728.
resistor card is under the glovebox. Remove glovebox door. Should be 2 screws I think holding resistor card in place.
Blower resistor is behind the blower motor up against the firewall you can see wires hanging down from it. (Mite be called blower control module in 2005 models.)
Never mind....It was the blower resistor shorted on hi......
The rear blower motor resistor location for a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer Ext LT is beneath the passenger side of the dash.
About 15 minutes. Easy and simple. Read all about it at www.trailvoy.com
If you do not have fan speeds it may be a fuse or the blower motor resistor. For help with the issue visit our enthusiasts forum at www.trailvoy.com
Try dropping the glove box door to get access. You should at least be able to see it at that point. The resistor is just two bolts and a electrical connector after that. The hard part is getting to it.
The resistor is located under the hood, on the firewall, passengers side. Unplug the wire harness from it, remove the small screws holding it in place, remove it from the housing. Reverse procedure for install.
