You have to drop the gas tank just 2 bolts holding the bands the fuel pump and gas gauge are a single unit pops right in not a bad job at all just be sure to use some kind of jack on the tank NAPA sold me the pump/guage unit for about 240.00
I have a 96 ram 1500, i had trouble getting the tank straps loose. I ended up removing the bed. It is held on by 6 bolts and i just lifted the bed up by the cab and propped it up with jack stands. The pump is right there in the top of the gas tank and took very little time to change.
