you would need to take out 10 bolts and bingo it is off

More: I'd check the entire procedure in a Haynes or Chilton manual. There are going to be fuel lines to disconnected. There are safety issues here. You may have to drain the tank before removal. You'll probably need a floor jack to lower the tank slowly and safely.

the fuel pump is in the gas tank.remove gas tank,be careful of fuel lines do not break them

Only one. The filter is integrated into the fuel pump module, located inside the fuel tank. To replace the filter, you must replace the entire fuel pump module. To replace that module, you must first either remove the fuel tank or the truck box.

if you drop the fuel tank from the mounts it is on the top of the tank. there are 6 screws that you have to remove and the entire fuel pump module will come out. there are two electrical connections that you have to disconnect as well. one is outside the tank (if you follow the wires back toward the cab you will see it), and the other is inside the fuel tank.

you are going to have to drop the tank.... place a jack under the gas tank to support it while removing the two tank straps, once removed lower the fuel tank and remove the fill & vent hose's, fuel lines, and electric harness. now just remove the sending unit from the tank. now all you have to do is take out the old fuel pump and replace it then put it all back together shouldn't take more than a few hours...
