how to replace a heater core in a 94 - 98 mustang? go pay someone else to do it..... but if you decide to try to tackel this project you will need a repair manual and follow the steps. I did it myself as I hate paying someone else my money... and I think it runs 8 hrs of labor .... and it took me probably a little more than that. a generial idea of how to do it is. remove the dash....radio,cd,ac cont.instrument benzel, center counsel, all the bolts holding the dash in place, steering wheel bolt....... the dash comes out as one big piece (airbags and steering wheel attached)
in the engine compartment, remove hoses from heater core and drain and remove hoses from a/c (evap. lines) some nuts. the manual says to remove dash and heater core box out of the vehicle...... this would require removing some of the wiring and I was successful at pulling the dash out 12 - 16 inches.... and pulling the box out that holds the heater core, just enough to remove 3 of the 4 bolts, and that was enough to pull and replace the core (using care not to dammage the new core) with less dissasembly. it is a must to have a manual or at least step by step instructions with pictures (locations of some of the bolts and nuts)..... although I was surprised how much this car is a "snap together / pull apart" it is a vary time consuming task, and lots of piles of parts taken off.
