My husband replaced mine last year in 96 Grand Am 2.4 engine. On my car, it is located underneath the temperature controls and radio and in front of the console. Its wedged in there to the firewall on a slant. The heater core itself wasn't to difficult. The plastic around it is the hard part. A few plastic pieces were broken trying to get the under dash plastic out. It comes in several sections. Remember how they came out because he didn't replace it immediately. So,months later,I started to put the plastic back up in and it is very difficult and extremely uncomfortable! I did succeed after several hours though. Good luck.
