It's run by the same serpentine belt that runs the AC and alternator. The water pump is on the other end of the engine. Changing a serpentine belt is relatively easy. The tensioner pully must be held in the loose position with a 3/8" ratchet and the belt can be yanked out. Follow the diagram on the sticker in the engine bay to install the new one.
