If your 2006 Trailblazer is the 4.2L inline 6 the CPAS is located near the front of the block on the passenger side. All you need to do to remove it is take the bolts out of the power steering pump and let it hang while you replace the CPAS. The entire remove and replace shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.
Take it off and then replace it with a new one.
