Well, depends if your talking cylinders 4,5,6 which are in the front or 1,2,3 under intake. Front 4,5,6 easy; remove crankcase hose from front valve cover, slip it to the side loosely, remove 3 8mm hold down bolts for plastic dressing/cover hiding coil packs and intake plenum. Remove cover, locate coil packs, disconnect electrical connector by squeezing and pulling firmly, then remove 8mm bolt securing coil. Simply re install new one in reverse. Cylinders 1,2,3 must remove air intake box and hose and all electrical connections in the immediate area of that. Remove EGR valve-2 12mm bolts- and connector, careful not to drop gasket found between intake and valve. Remove 1, 8mm bolt securing intake to block found by egr valve, also remove on passenger side of compartment the 2, 8mm bolts securing the manifold pressure sensor from the side of intake. See Power Steering pressure hose clamp bolted to intake-rermove and also 1 8mm bolt in rear securing bracket to intake. Loosen and remove 6 8mm bolts securing upper plenum, remove plenum and watch if any additional parts drag against each other and adjust as needed. Slide manifold to side only half way; enough to see coils and same procedure as fronts. re-assemble. Install egr valve first that way its not so tight o install after. Secure bracket bolts and sensors/switches,air box, oh and remove battery. Will make more room for service.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE Remove the engine cover. Disconnect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils. Disconnect the ignition coil harness connector. Remove the ignition coil mounting bolts. Remove the ignition coil. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Install the ignition coil to the bracket. Install the ignition coil mounting bolts. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Tighten Tighten the ignition coil mounting bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in) . Connect the ignition coil harness connector. Connect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils. Install the engine cover.
Replace it only if it becomes defective.
