Ignition Lock? or Door Lock?
Its on the door panel next to the door handle. at least that's where it is on my 1992 190e 2.3
If you mean the door lock cylinder...remove the interior door panel. On the back of the door handle there are 2 10mm hex bolts. To the outer edge of the door there is an access hole. With an extension, remove the 10mm bolt that holds the lock cylinder and door handle together. Reach in and push the nylon retainer that holds the rod into the cylinder (yellow on driver side, white on passenger side) and remove it. A slight twist of the cylinder will remove it from the door handle. Replace in reverse order.
You can replace the locking cylinder, on your 1994 Ford Thunderbird, by removing the inside door panel. The locking mechanism will be visible with the door panel removed.
there is no release you just push on the door near the hinge and it opens
If it's a Euro Cylinder just unscrew the screw holding it in place, turn the key slightly until you can pull the cylinder out. Put the new cylinder in and replace the screw to hold it in place.
On my 91 190e I had that problem once in a bit of a blonde moment. Apparently the gas tank door is linked to the door locks. The doors on the car must be unlocked for the gas tank door to open. I hope your problem is as simple as this.
You have to remove the entire door panel. Some models are screwed on and some models just snap on. For the very best advise, take it to you closes Mercedes-Benz dealer. Good luck!
Should be a 16 gal. I have a 1993 190e, and it has a 16 gal tank. By the way, there should be a sticker on the side of your filling door that says how big the tank is.
If it is like most other VWs , there is a Philips screw on the edge of the door where it latches. if this is removed the door handle can be slid out. You didn't mention if there is a key lock in the handle. Use the key in cylinder from the old lock to replace. You may also have to turn the key in order for the slot to mate in the door mechanism.
