The drive shaft is a ballanced line of linkages that tansmit power and motion to the wheels. It has to be balanced correctly or you will have a vibration centered on the vehicle. If the yolk is damaged, and has to be replaced, I would recomend you take it to a local drive-line repair shop. If you must use a yolk from the local junkyard, most will only sell the entire drive shaft assembly. Obtaining a yolk from the auto parts store will force you to take it to the driveline shop to balance it anyway. So your best bet is the junkyard.
Because some people cant afford nothing else
There is no drive shaft because it is front wheel drive. The axles connect directly to tranny.
No, the brakes have nothing to do with the drive shaft.
Yes
I have a expedition a 1997 expedition to be exact and mine has the the not right next to that sometimes are you have to do is you have to stop and then you put it in neutral. Then you turn it to 2 wheel drive And that's
Easy enough, that can be done from the outside. Remove the drive shaft from the unit, remove seal, replace with new, make sure it seats well.
If you mean "cabin air filter," there is not one on the 1997 Ford Expedition. I have a '97 Expedition Eddie Baur and have looked and researched thoroughly.
Typical U-Joint noise. Makes noise in reverse but not in drive. Check both front and rear U-joints of the drive shaft. If one is bad replace both. You do not want to go through R&R of the drive shaft twice.
How do u replace the front axel on a 1997 nissan altima
That will depend entirely on the make and year of the vehicle. I just recently bought a complete CV drive shaft for a 1997 Taurus and it cost me $ 89,
take the axle out
Trying to fix a cv axle half shaft your self is difficult. Replace it with a rebuilt or new half shaft. The parts to repair yours would cost you more than a complete replacement does.
