Get your new sway bar and you will see what has to be taken loose to remove and reinstall it.
how do you replace the front sway bar likn in a 1999 Grand Marquis?
I have a 2000 Buick Regal GS how do I change my front sway bar
sway bar
You cannot get at the bolts so you have to lower the sub frame. 4 bolts need to come out on the sub frame with boards and a jack to lower the frame just enough to get at the sway bar bolts. Not too bad after that 4 bolts holding two brackets on the sway bar come out replace bushings(made of Rubber) some have grooves in them which is good to know before you buy them. replace bolts jack the sub frame back up and replace the 4 bolts you took out, Good to go
Check with a Ford dealer - there was a recall on the front sway bar links because under certain conditions they could fracture - so they were replacing the left and right front sway bar links under the recall. (Helpfull)
Around 30.00 plus labor.
A little more information. Year/model. Some sway bar links become loose because of wear and the links continue to work but make a noise when the front end hits a bump. Other sway bar links will break altogether and the vehicle will lean excessivly when going around a corner.
to do the frt one's put a jack under the sub frame and then undo the sway bar links remove the two rear sub frame bolts and let the jack down slowly you may have to unhook the exhaust at the flex pipe remove the four bolts from the sway bar bushings and the bar should come out.
The links go on the end on the sway bar and hook to the suspension. Bushings are used to connect the sway bar to cars frame.
put a jack under front to relive tension and remove the two frame mounted bushings first then remove end links check all bushings and replace as needed i suggest using polyurathan bushings made by energy suspention
No, it can't. Unless you have punctured the tire with the end of sway bar ball joint.
