How do you replace heater core 1989 Chevy s-10 4.3?

The heater core is removable from under the right side of the instrument panel.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Position a drain pan under the radiator, open the drain cock and drain the cooling system to a level below the heater core.
3. Disconnect the heater-to-engine coolant hoses from the core tubes on the fire wall, in the engine compartment.
4. From the passenger compartment (under the dash) remove the heater core rear case cover-to-cowl screws, then remove the cover from the vehicle.
5. Remove the straps or brackets from each end of the heater core.
6. Carefully remove the heater core from the cowl and case.
