Remove the Phillips screws holding the lens in place, remove the lens, push bulb into socket and rotate counter-clockwise, reverse procedure to install.

There are three light bulbs when the brake light column is taken out. If just my brake light is out, which bulb needs to be replaced?

AnswerIf this were my car, I would replace the brake light switch ( near the brake pedal ). This could be the problem and is about the cheapest thing to start with. Good luck.check the ground connection at the taillights a bad ground will cause this

Replace the brake lamp (the one on the right that doesn't go on). Go to a local autoparts store to buy the bulb (usually not more than a few dollars). They might even help you replace it. If it was just a burnt-out bulb, the brake lamp light on the dash should go out once the bulb is working again.

If only the right rear brake/signal light is effected it is not the fuse. Inspect the right rear brake/signal bulb, socket and wiring.

User Avatar

Yes I actually did it yesterday on my land rover I could not get my tail light to come on only my brake light. Use a decent wire like one side of a good speaker wire will do it's what I used. Tie it into the "hot" or positive wire of a working light into the positive of the non working. Make sure the lights you are tieing together do the same job i.e. Q brake light to a brake light. If that doesn't work check your ground. Also this only helps if the wiring is bad that is sending the light the signal if the fixture is bad you will have to replace it.

The trailer has a dead short in that right side brake light circuit.

It is underneath the Brake Pedal. It's mounted to and right above the brake pedal.

User Avatar

No. I am assuming that you first replaced the bulb? If you did replace the bulb, then I would check to see if you are getting power to the bulb socket. If no power is getting to the socket, you then need to find the break in the electric lines going to the socket.

User Avatar

you have to take off the panel that is covering around the brake and then you will see the brake light switch on the front side of the brake you can just simply turn it left or right and that will adjust it

User Avatar

Yes. One switch is for the left and right brake light assemblies; and, the other is for the 'third' brake light.

Nissan Frontier brake light bulb replacement: Purchase the correct replacement brake light bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement brake light bulb information. Then consult your owner's manual for the replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for brake light bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).

More than likely you have a burnt out bulb at the front signal light, rear signal light, or brake light on the right side.
