where is the camshaft position sensor located on a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue
It is pretty technical and special tools are needed. Take it to a garage.
---------------------------------------------------------- The camshaft positioning sensor is hidden behind the starter motor on the 3.5 6-cyl. engine. I think it's the same for the 4.0. The starter motor must be removed to replace the sensor.
Right next too the coolant resvervior remove it and you will see it. Unplig the pigtail and remove the 10 mm bolt holding it into place.
In order to replace the camshaft position sensor, you would need to disconnect the electrical plug holding it in. Using a socket, hold down the bolt and remove the camshaft position sensor.
It is located on the backside of the engine. Go to youtube and type in how to replace camshaft sensor on 2005 Nissan altima and it will show where it is and how to replace it, that is how I did my one.
how do you replace the camshaft position sensor on a 1997 plymouth voyager 3l
The camshaft position sensor is located near the thermostat housing. You should replace the crankshaft position sensor as well. This one is much harder to locate....it is on the backside of the engine that is between the firewall and the engine block. Both use the same sensor.
How do u replace the camshaft sensor for a 2000 Nissan xterra 3.3L and where is its locatoin
Replace the crankshaft and camshaft senors and then clear the codes with an oBD II engine scanner and that will fix it.
I changed only the camshaft position sensor on my 2000 Kia Sportage. So I don't think so.
For the 3.5 L motor. Looking at the engine from the front of the car, the camshaft position sensor is located on the left side of the rear head. If you remove the coolant overflow container, you will be able to find it very easily. You will need a 10mm wrench of socket to remove the set bolt, then with a flat screw driver you can very gently pry it out. Just pop the new one in and tighten the bolt. Be careful when attaching the plug.
