First you remove the battery, air filter, distributor cap and rotor, disconect shift cables, clutch cable, and the three plugs going into the transmition, remove wheels and axles, support engine and transmition w/ jacks, remove exhaust, transmition mounts, crossmember, rear engine/transmition mount, remove the transmition, then theres your clutch and replace it you'll need a tourqe wrench i think its 13lbs for the clutch, greese the spines and tranny then throw it all back together again, this requires that ALOT OF CURSE WORDS TO BE USED. Buy a servise manual like haynes our some thing like that its a pain but I've done it twice in six months to a 92 and a 91 all modles are basicly the same just double check parts with a parts dealer.
You can't. They have a distributor pack, and not a cap and rotor. a 1.6 eng 93 geo storm has a distributor cap and rotor!!!
Look at how to replace one on a 93 model.
Torque sequence of what. Heads, wheels, etc.
It's threaded into the front of your exhaust manifold.
Its on the end of the fuel rail
It should. To better check, go to local parts store and check the Haines Manual...is should be for both Geo Metro and Geo Storm, just check that is bolts up the same.
See the related question: How do I replace the water pump on a 1993 Geo Prizm 1.8L?
there is a connector under the dash on the passenger side
there is no pilot bushing/bearing for the Geo Storms '90-'93 manual transaxle.
A Chevrolet 502 if you want to do all the work that would take. Realistically, a 1.8L DOHC 16V out of the Geo Storm GSI is about the most you're gonna fit in there.
How do you replace power steering pressure hose on a 1993 geo prizm
There is no clutch cable in 93 Mercury Capri. Its operated by hydraulics. There is a clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder. the seal in it probably worn out. Not very hard to work with.
It changes the shift points in the transmission for best fuel economy.
Remove the manifold and change the gasket. And voila!!!
about $900.00 at a garage
Can you swap a 93 Geo metro manual transmition with a 95 Geo Metro
u have to get a performance chip it will diasble the top speed limiter
best bet is go to an stereo store or crutchfield and get adapter they're cheap
Simply take the old one off and install the new one.
It is probably the throw out bearing going bad. You have to remove the transmission from the bottom to replace it. Replace the clutch, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing and have the flywheel resurfaced.
gotta drop the tank. its located inside the tank remove the 8 or so screws holding it in pull it out and replace. screw back in and then put tank back in place. really easy just did it in my 92 storm.. just make sure theres next to NO gas in the tank otherwise its gonna be a biatch to lift back up.
Jack up car, remove wheel, remove brake caliber. the rotor will pull right off
take the screws out on the top you have to use a short Philips screw driver and theres 2 screws on the bottom then it pulls out
the PVC vlave is located in a hole on the top of the valve cover next to the oil fill cap.
