It is really simple if you buy the $71 replacement actuator sub-assembly from Jeep. I'd rate it a 1.5 wrench out of 5 on the difficulty scale!
The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
The lock actuator is part of the latch. You have to replace the entire latch.
how to replace actuator on a 2000 malibu
I'm trying to replace the headlight assembly for a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lerado. What bolts or screws do I remove
Replace the caliper and bleed the whole system
I also have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee. the rear door lock actuator goes bad. you can manually lock the door by popping off a small (easy to miss) panel on the rear gate and locking it. I replaced the actuator myself using a kit supplied by a website that i cant remember the name of off hand. try searching around some on the internet using 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lift Gate Actuator. I paid around 60 dollars or so. hope this can help you some.
