How do you replace the headlight assembly located on a 1991 Honda Accord?

to replace the whole headlight assembly (lens and all), you need to remove the front bumper. Removing this is not difficult, remove the splash pan underneath, as i recall i think you take out the turn signals to get access to a couple of bolts, then take off the two nuts on the long bolts that go into the engine compartment. It takes about ten minutes. From there I think there are three or four bolts that hold the headlamp assy in place.

The headlight is an assembly. To replace the headlight, you remove the bulb from the back side. It is a halogen bulb, so do not touch with bare hards before installing.

This just isn't something that you want to do. Remove engine shroud, grill, bumper on the side that you're working on, inner fender fasteners - then you can get to the 4 bolts that hold the headlight assembly in. Did it yesterday - won't do it again. 5 hours :-(
