Deep under dash near heater core. Lots of work to get at.
Unfortunately the entire dash must come out to replace that unit.
LOTS - it is virtually inaccessible .
Check heatertreater.net for diagnostic information and a fix for the blend door/actuator problems endemic to this model.
"Heater" ... that includes a number of different parts, from the controls to the heater coil to the most common part to fail: temperature blend door actuator motor. The "Related Questions" below round-up the various parts, and also include diagnostic/trouble-shooting information - critical to avoid unnecessarily changing perfectly good parts.
Cut off the crimp connectors, pull the old hose off and replace with conventional heater hose and conventional hose clamps
I am very sorry. I was under the impression that if I go to the address bar and ask a question. The answer would be right forecoming. I only asked how to replace the heater core on a 2000 ford taurus. And received only run-arounds.
You have a faulty temperature blend door actuator located directly behind the radio. Remove the radio and remove the blend door actuator held to the heater case with three 8mm screws, and replace it.
Not a easy job. The dash needs to be removed to gain access to the temp actuator. To many steps to list here. Recommend purchasing a shop manual for that vehicle if you intend on replacing the actuator yourself.
