The switch is on the steering column about 18 inches from the floor under the dash. There are 2 screws that hold it on.
On the column accross from the key lock cylinder
Flasher should just "plug in" either next to or inside fuse box located by steering column under dash
Replacing a steering column ignition switch on a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is not considered a major repair. The task is considered easy but if done wrong could be dangerous. It is best to refer to vehicle manual for the car to ensure proper direction is given.

I'm kind of wondering why you want to replace the column? It's a pretty big job, I'd imagine.

There is a hole under the column right next to the ignition. put a pen in the hole and the key will now roll back to get it out of the ignition.
The ignition lock switch is found under the steering column on a 2004 Honda Civic. Remove the steering column and ignition switch. Loosen the mounting screws that hold the cylinder in place. Pull and replace the lock cylinder.
I had the same issue with a 99 Pontiac sunfire and i i had to replace the ignition switch on the inside of the steering column i think the part was around $25-30 dollars its relatively easy to do the swap but the hardest part is gonna be to find the T$ star bit scoket you will need to take the old one out
