How do you replace the ignition switch on a 1982 Southwind or a 1982 P30 chassis?

Haven't yet got mine out. I opend the dash to get at the sw. The switch ha a plug connection ,it's secured by 2 hair-pin like snaps .push them in and rock the plug to pull it off.
While holding the chrome casting on the front of the dash unscrew the sw. from the back. I think the key must be in to release the switch from the front..
Lost my keys That explains why I'm not done yet!There is a small hole in the side , tried a pin in it but that didn't help.
Have you removed the plug on the back yet ??
After the plug is off ,hold the front casting & unscrew the back from it.
theres a small hole in the side I think it's a release . lost my keys so im in the same boat. I have unscrewed it as far as I can ,still havent got any further. When I succede, I'll post it. good luck.
