First, unfasten as much of the inner trunk liner as you need to access the bulb socket. On the '04's the fasteners are easily removed. Use a small flathead screwdriver, nail file or anything small and flat to gently pry out the center section of the fastener. Once this is released the fastener should drop way from the car. DO NOT pry out the entire fastener as that will destroy it; the center section must be pulled back about 3/8 of an inch to release it.
Twist out the bulb socket one quarter of a turn clockwise, replace bulb, test it, twist socket back in place. To replace the fasteners simply insert them back into the holes they came out of and push the center section back in. Should take about 5 minutes.
