There is a hinge between the arm and where it connects to the motor. You can either lift the arm away from the vehicle(to the right of the hings), OR you can lift the cover over the connection to the motor(left of the hinge). The cover over the back part (where it connects to the motor) will actually lift up, exposing the nut that holds the arm on. Then you just take off the nut and wiggle the arm free
