Just trace the top radiator hose to where it connects to the engine. Where the hose stops is your thermostat housing. It should have 2 or 3 small bolts holding it to the engine. Remove the bolts and gently push on the housing neck and this should reveal the thermostat. Pull the old one out and replace it with a new one. Just make sure you drain a couple of quarts of anti-freeze out before you start.

On my 91 Lsi (1ltr 3cyl) the thermostat is directly under the distributor cap. Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine block, under the distributor. The hose is connected to the thermostat housing, which is connected to the engine by two bolts. If you replace your thermostat don't forget a new gasket.
