I suggest you have this done by a professional. It is a nasty dirty job and requires some knowledge or you may overfill the transmission which can be disastrous. The filter is none serviceable but changing all the fluid is a very good idea on a 15 year old car. Do not have the transmission flushed, only change the fluid and make sure they use genuine Honda ATF. Honda transmissions do not shift well with any other fluid.

Correct :

Professional not necessary. The drain plug is located on the lower passenger side of the transmission. A 3/8" drive ratchet and extension will remove the plug. The filter is not servicable without transmission removal. Older Honda transmissions shift fine with regular Dexron fluid like most other cars. Check your owner's manual for the proper fluid to use.

Remember, you are only changing about half of the fluid, as you cannot drain the torque convertor. It will take less than 5 quarts to refill. Pay attention to how much you've drained out, consult the owner's manual, and do not overfill.
