The alternator belt on a 1993 Nissan 300ZX will typically squeal if it has excessive wear or it has become lose. This provides a good opportunity to replace the belt before it complete fails.
About 1100 (Nissan dealer quote) that's water pump timing belt and th rest of the parts you need, I'm sure you could find it a little cheaper .
belt dont no 80's but the 90's 300ZX are belt driven
I got it for $17 at napa auto parts. you should also replace the water pump while changing the belt. the pump is about $29 at advance auto parts. good luck.
Answer Belt.........
The belt is a PK3 & its 925mm long.
no. it has a chain not belt. it should last as long as the car.
The intake and exhaust manifolds, along with the timing belt will have to be removed to gain access to the head. Remove the head and replace the gasket. Torque the bolts down to the manufacturer specs and in the order Nissan suggests.
Replace the timing belt and pray that you dont have bent valves.
You may have a serpentine belt on that car. I believe they had an electric fan. The serpentine belt is black and you can see it by your alternator, A/C compressor, etc. Under the hood of your car should be sticker on how to route the belt. You can look at that sticker and then see where your belt goes. There is no fan belt on a 1991 Nissan 300zx. The fan is directly driven by an electric motor. The water pump, alternator, and air conditioning compressor are belt driven. The belt for those components is located at the front of the engine.
When it becomes loud or starts leaking. You can also change it if you have to do timing belt due to you have to take everything off anyway
ca20? remove all the belts, water pump pulley, underdrive pulley, timing chain cover and timing belt and the water pump is accessible. I would replace the timing belt too.
